SASO®, our Self-Adhesive Shrink-On Label has been making noise in the Aerosol industry since its launch to market, earlier this year. Customers have instantly experienced the wide range of benefits that come from using SASO®. We are delighted to present to you another successful SASO® case study from Car-Care company, FuelTone.

Who is FuelTone?

FuelTone is a leader in the formulation and supply of fuel additives and engine treatments. Their products are independently verified to increase performance and fuel efficiency whilst significantly reducing emissions for commercial and fleet vehicles.

The business is well established in the workshop sector, and FuelTone are now increasing their share of the retail market. Their products are manufactured in the UK, which allows flexibility and responsiveness to quickly changing market demands.

Rebranding of the product range and a move into more sustainable packaging formats saw FuelTone source recyclable metal canisters for their “one-shot” products. However, traditional litho printing of the cans set them back.

Litho printing of their packaging meant long lead times along with fixed quantity splits across the product range. This would mean missing the planned relaunch date and a lack of flexibility in the long term.

Working with Springfield

At very short notice, we were able to print and apply our innovative, digital aerosol packaging solution, SASO® (self-adhesive, shrink on) labels to FuelTone’s blank cans. SASO® labels provide full height decoration, giving the effect of a printed can without the long lead times or expensive, high minimum order quantities.

Our high-speed printing process is entirely digital. Which means there is no requirement for plates to be made, which delay or add cost to the project.

In addition, digital print also has zero MOQs and fast lead times. This means that companies like yours can recieve packaging fast, get product to market fast and streamline your packaging methods. In fact, with a previous conventional print supplier, Fueltone had lead times of several weeks with significantly larger MOQ’s.

With SASO®, Fueltone now benefit from a lead time of a few days.

Another benefit of SASO® is that it can significantly reduce your storage capacity. This is because you no longer have to order large quantities of pre-printed cans – only the labels that you need – when you need them.
