This year, we are celebrating some incredible staff milestones! To start off the celebrations in 2024, we have a new member of the ’25 Year Club’ – John Hoggarth, Brand Management Operator. 

John is the 18th employee to reach this milestone at Springfield. Which is something we are very proud of!  

We spoke to John to hear about his history with the business, spanning a successful career in our Brand Management team.  

What are some of your early memories about starting at Springfield? 

I joined Springfield in April 1999 after leaving the design agency I was previously working for. Initially, I started as an Artworker. Completing work for customers such as Crown, Akzo Nobel, Superdrug and Reckitt.  

At the time, it was daunting moving from a creative side of the industry to a more technical side. In my new role at Springfield as an Artworker, I was having to take into account different print processes, traps and minimum dots and the many other aspects of reprographics.  

Having the help and support from other experienced operators in the team made the transition a lot easier. I soon picked up the technical aspects needed to service our Global clients as a Brand Management Operator.  

How has your role developed over the years? 

I am now in a position where I am able to be included in core teams, setting up ranges for Global Brands such as Veet, Air Wick and Finish.  

Over the years, my work has been quite varied. From creating 3D Packshots, design work and reprographics. For a few years, I also worked shifts so that we could support Reckitt in the US/Canadian market. 

Do you have any highlights across your 25 years at Springfield? 

Some of the most memorable times have been on the nights out in the local pub, the Kingston Arms. Going for a Curry and a Pint on a Friday was also a great way to end the week! 

I can’t pick one specific highlight over the 25 years. Only that I have enjoyed being part of a team that, no matter how busy we are, we are always there to support each other. I’m lucky to call some of my colleagues my closest friends!
