Print Division Targets Another Year of Growth
Our print division is targetting another record breaking year. By June 30 we had printed almost 65 million labels, setting us on course to print 130 million labels by the end of the year.
The figure represents a five per cent increase compared to last years performance, which saw us smash through the 100 million mark for the first time in the company’s 40-year history.
We have seen a 21 per cent increase in jobs, with nearly 16,000 completed this year and more than 4.3 million metres of labels printed in the first six months of 2015. We have also witnessed a year on year increase since converting to an all-digital print room three years ago, offering clients greater flexibility, quicker turnaround and consistency on every run.
Our Joint Managing Director Dennis Ebeltoft said the benefits of digital print were encouraging clients to switch over from alternative methods. He said: “To have printed 65 million labels so far this year is a fantastic achievement. We have built on the success of last year and we’re on track to beat our record.
“We were among the earliest adopters of digital in the industry, buying our first digital press in 1996, and investing £750,000 to transform the print room to all digital in 2012.
“As a result we’ve seen an increase in demand because digital enables our clients more flexibility and they are starting to understand how they can use this to their advantage.”
Earlier this year, we increased our range of self-adhesive labels with the flexible peel-back label REVEALABEL. Demand for labels has been supplemented by recent changes to EU regulations on label information, according to Mr Ebeltoft.
He said: “Changes to label regulations meant brands had to reprint with a lot more information included. In February we launched our innovative piggyback style label, REVEALABEL, giving brands a solution to the changes without having to compromise on design.”
We work with many FMCG and industrial Fortune 500 ‘Power Brand’ clients, supplying a full design-to-print service, including pre-press, prototype mock ups, asset management, personalised labels, and smart interactive label solutions.
