Remembering Mike ‘Boogie’ Dalton

Remembering Mike Dalton

Recently, we received the terrible news that one of our former colleagues and Directors of the business; Mike Dalton had passed away suddenly.

“Boogie”, as he was affectionately known, was instrumental in the early days of Springfield, joining the business in the late 1970s when we were located on Wright Street in the Town Centre of Hull.

Mike was approached to join the business as a platemaker and help setup a new company; ‘Springfield Platemaking and Proofing’ to serve this growing area of the business.

Remembering Mike Dalton

At its height, this business grew to 6 platemakers and 3 proofing machines serving Metal Box and several companies in the Gulf States. Mike was a Director of this business for many years until his retirement in the early 2000s.

On occasions, Mike’s wife Christine came into Springfield to help out on large projects and Mike also introduced his daughter; Sharon Taylor to the business, who has been an integral member of our accounts team for over 30 years. The Dalton’s were, and are, very much part of the ‘Springfield Family’.

Mike will be fondly remembered by many current members of our team and has left a lasting legacy here at Springfield which we will never forget.

We express our deepest sympathy to Sharon, Christine and the Dalton family on this heart-breaking loss.
