Wendy Sheard, one of our valued receptionists at Springfield Solutions retired last week. Many visitors of Springfield will know Wendy as a warm, welcoming face that greets you as you enter our building. 

The team at Springfield presented Wendy with gifts and video messages wishing her well on her retirement, check out the video below! 

We asked Wendy a few questions about her time here at Springfield, and her plans for the future! 

What are some things you enjoyed about working at Springfield?  

Both Springfield and Eon are a Great company to work for, everyone is so nice and I just love being a receptionist here! 

Do you have a favourite memory during your time at Springfield?  

Favourite memory, hmm, I know – how kind and understanding everyone was when I had breast cancer and I was off work for a few weeks. Everyone was so caring and stayed in touch, it was an emotional time and felt the love when I came back. A few weeks later we had a tickled pink day at work and raised a lot of money and everyone dressed in pink!! 

What (or who!) will you miss the most about Springfield?  

I will miss everyone. You are all like my extended family, I have been here 12 ½ years and watched people come and go, but they all leave their mark in your memories. I have seen staff get married, have babies and return to work and now their babies are growing up so much, its lovely and I will miss you all so much! 

What are your plans for retirement?  

Well, if you don’t all know already where have you been?! I’m going to Las Vegas on the 22nd of September and while I’m there I’m getting married (25th September)! I did say never again sooooo many years ago, and I said it would take someone very special to make me change my mind, well things have a way of happening and I met the lovely man I am taking the plunge with. 

What are you looking forward to most about retirement?  

The rest of my life. No one knows how long we are on this earth for, so I like to live for each day and make each day count. Oh, and not setting the alarm unless it’s to go to the airport! 

Any final comments? 

I want to say a huge thank you to everyone, it has been great to work with you all and I know I will need a box of Kleenex and I will be an emotional wreck when it comes to leaving so before I become that wreck, thank you all for your presence in my life. I will never forget you all, big hugs, Wendy x
