IN the year that Springfield Solutions is celebrating 40 years of innovation, the company, along with sister firm Eon Visual Media, has scored a hat-trick of awards for its cutting edge developments.
It is the third time in succession Springfield Solutions and Eon Visual Media have won the coveted category, despite facing stiff competition from other businesses across Hull and East Yorkshire.
In 2013 the two companies jointly won the category for developing print-to-mobile app SmartPicture and last year Eon Visual Media walked away with the award for creating the ALLEVYN Life Promise app for Smith & Nephew.
Matt Dass, managing director of Eon Visual Media and joint managing director of Springfield Solutions, said it was fitting to have won the award in the year Springfield Solutions celebrated its 40th birthday.
“We have spent the entire year celebrating the company’s history of innovation,” he said.
“Springfield Solutions has pioneered a lot of processes that are now industry standards in printing and brand management and Eon Visual Media is achieving similar things in the digital and online world.
“So to have won the award for innovation and technology for the third time in succession in the year we were celebrating these things is both very exciting and very fitting. Everyone here is absolutely delighted and I’m really proud of my team at Springfield and Eon who have helped make this happen.”
SmartPicture is based on Digimarc technology and enables graphics, logos and other printed material to be scanned by a mobile device, which takes the user to a rich world of online content.
The ALLEVYN Life Promise App also won a Bronze award in the ‘Best App’ category of the International Visual Communication Association (IVCA) awards.
It features a variable-position adhesive join, enabling the mount label to peel away from the base label from either side, from the top or bottom, or from both sides towards the join if required, while remaining securely fastened to the product.
