Today at Springfield Solutions we’re celebrating another ‘world’s first’ with our latest investment news.

We’ve signed a deal to purchase the first ever Truepress Jet 350UV+LM (low migration) press on the market, at LabelExpo Europe Brussels.

Made by leading Japanese manufacturer, Screen, the press will form an integral part of #PrintWorks, our £1.3m expansion, which we officially launched earlier this year.

It is the fourth Screen press we have bought, and will enable us to increase the volume of labels and packaging we print across all sectors.

Dennis Ebeltoft, our joint managing director, had this to say: “Our print business is going from strength to strength and that has enabled us to invest significantly in expansion.

“We’re delighted to have sealed the deal on the first of this new generation of Screen presses, and what better place to announce the news than the world’s biggest event for the label and packaging print industry.”

Dennis and the Springfield team worked closely with Screen to develop the new presses, including the low migration model we’ve bought.

They helped design a number of new features including a chiller roller which enables printing on thin, heat-sensitive substrates.

Commenting on this latest investment, Bui Burke, Senior Vice President Sales at Screen, said: “Springfield Solutions is forming a habit of making landmark purchases from Screen.

The news is the latest in a series of ‘firsts’ we’ve achieved at Springfield over the years. We were the first company in the UK to send an artwork file by ISDN and being the first company in the world to expose printing plates directly on to the imagesetter, missing out the film production stage.
